A space that was once dominated by various entries and exits has now been transformed into a welcoming area that optimizes accessibility and encourages networking. The symmetrical design has given way to a world of fluidity and cross-linking, creating a dynamic and engaging environment.
The building itself embraces the concept of "blue modern," with the white reception desk embodying this design idea. Behind the desk, a gigantic illuminated screen enhances the brand's image and serves as the focal point of a lively and colorful lounge area.
To strengthen the Grandblue DNA in the reception area, the design team drew inspiration from the brand's logo. They meticulously crafted a 1:1 mock-up of a curvy blue ribbon on the ceiling, ensuring seamless joints with aluminum materials and a smooth connection to the barrisol.
Minimal, modern, and characterized by fluidity and geometry, the Grandblue design is a testament to the team's creativity and attention to detail. The project was brought to life by a talented team, including designers Ken Tsang, Jam Fung, and Wilshere Li.
The design process involved a collaborative workshop with the senior management and staff of Grandblue. Divided into eight groups, they brainstormed ideas and sourced mood images, ultimately finding inspiration that shaped the final design.
The Grandblue project commenced in 2018 in Guangzhou and was completed in December 2019. Throughout the process, the design team faced challenges due to Grandblue's strict design guidelines and limited material options. However, through brainstorming and collaboration with the client, they successfully upgraded the brand's image, using water as a design language to create a new international identity.
The Grandblue design has received recognition for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award honors designs that exemplify resourcefulness, technical skill, and contribute to improving quality of life.
With its captivating ocean-inspired aesthetic and innovative approach, the Grandblue design sets a new standard for modern and fluid interior design.
